Thankful Thursday: My Snow Tractor Angel

I am thankful for the man who plowed my driveway.

We got a lot of snow at the beginning of the week. The worst part is that the city snowplows fill up the end of the driveways with snow, instead of lifting their plows as they go past a driveway. It was so bad around the mailbox, that the mail lady stopped delivering the mail. So, today, I reluctantly went out there with my shovel.

After shoveling for 1/2 hour, I realized that I had another 4 hours or so to go. But soon a tractor came hauling down the road. He was on his way to plow somewhere else. He must have had pity on me though, because he offered to plow the driveway. I asked him how much he would charge. He said that he didn't want anything and started plowing. I had my daughter go get my purse anyhow.

When he was done plowing, he waved good-bye. But I ran after wanting to pay him. He had just saved me 4 hours of shoveling. He shook his head no and just kept driving down the road. Well, I was very thankful. At dinner, I thanked God for sending us the Snow Tractor Angel to clear the driveway. The kids thought that was funny, because he was obviously not an angel. But they got the idea that I was really appreciative. They know how much I dislike the snow.

That is something to be thankful for! My tractor angel is my hubbie. Thank goodness we have a snow blower - I don't think I would have been out there trying to clear out that driveway.

Wow, what a wonderful blessing!

I giggled at first about 4 hours of shoveling (not that it's funny)...thinking you must have developed some serious biceps but then I realized your Snow Angel soon arrived and saved the day! (and your back)

You all had some serious snow!

hugs,
Vicki

I think that is DEFINITELY something to be thankful for! As for being an angel... well, ya never know! The Bible DOES say that we might be "entertaining angels" and not even know it. Whether he was or wasn't... it was a VERY SWEET thing to do. ;-)

I noticed your blog mentions homeschooling too. (I've ran into a LOT of homeschooling families online recently) We also chose that route of education for our family. I LOVE how our curriculum is built around CHRIST!

Okay.. didn't mean to keep you. I just wanted to stop in and say "THANKS" for the sweet message you left. Have a WONDERFUL day~

That's allota snow you got there!!!

It isn't wonderful when someone comes along and treats us to a selfless act of kindness.
Just look at how that complete stranger made you so happy.
Kudos to the snow plow angel!!!

We live in East Tennessee and haven't had snow like that in a few years.
We have very mild Winters here these days.

Ellen - that is just so cool that someone took the time and shovel your driveway for free. I think it is so sweet that you call him the "Snow Tractor Angel" :)

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.

Blessings to you and your precious family.

As much as I always complain about not having snow during our 'winter" season, (yes we get to wear shorts on Christmas some years), I must admit that I am thankful that we don't have to mess with the mess of the snow.

So I can totally understand and share in your thankfulness for your Snow Angel.

I LOVE your blog and will definitely have to bookmark it. Have a beautiful weekend and may the warm weather return to your area soon!

Hiya! What a cool thing!I'd be thankful too, especially since if we ever had enough snow to plow I think our whole part of the STATE would shut down.

You mentioned in your comment that you're frustrated w/a situation right now. Is there anything that i can pray for? email me @ praylovelive@yahoo.com .I won't share w/anyone and I'll pray w/you until you get an answer.

And the same for anyone else, too.
